Viva San Juan and feast day

Yesterday is the feast of Saint John the Baptist and it is also our town's feast day or what we call " Fiesta " . Our town's patron saint to be exact is Saint John the Baptist and yesterday was full of fun and praises to our patron saint. Our town Mayor prepared a lot of fun activities , food parks, music concerts and invited entertainment artists to celebrate with us. There were three Holy mass yesterday and it was solemn and full of teachings .After the mass, we had our Water Festival or Tubig Festival and a procession and parade. We splash water, get ourselves wet in water just like how John the Baptist did before . There were street dances too and some games and contests. Households prepared food and shared it with guests . Yesterday was so fun and its the 160th day of the Feast . Fellow lotters , how are you celebrating the feast day of your patron saint in your country? Or even your feast , how do you celebrate?

I live in San Juan City, Metro Manila, and we celebrated the Feast of San Juan in much the same way as other cities in the Philippines. Although the feast day was not declared a holiday, the celebration was still held in the streets. The traditional water splashing was also held during the festivities, with several trucks spraying water on the streets as people went around enjoying the shower. Some people who were working avoided going to our place because they knew they would surely get wet if they passed through where the festivities were going on. The streets were closed to traffic, and the celebration lasted for several hours. The atmosphere was very festive, and it was a joy to be a part of it.

The same thing happened too here in our province. It rained hard last night and a lot of people went to see the concert our mayor prepared there were 4 bands who performed and it was a blast even though it was raining , its a free concert by the way and it was fun .
