I've been roped in to line-dance

First the backstory. Our lifestyle village has a senior Zumba session each Monday. It’s more music to movement but at least it gets us moving and is good exercise. I haven’t been for a while because of doctor’s appointments, etc but I went yesterday. Big Mistake!! They are going to do a line dance demonstration at the Country and Western night and now I’m part of it. Luckily, they are only doing two very simple dances. I’ve found both on YouTube and if I practise every day till Saturday, I should be able to manage them. The second one is faster and I have a bit of trouble keeping my balance while doing some of the steps. If I don’t think I can manage I can always pull out. Wish me luck. The photo is of us dancing at our wedding. Those were the days!

@JudyEv I can remember pantsuits like yours. My mama had a beautiful blue one.

@Tampa_girl7 I really liked this suit. It was a pale cream. I wore it a lot.

I LOVE line dancing. When I was bartending a friend of mine invited me to another bar, and I learned a dance..now most line dances back then were Country music. I was bartending a few nights later and no one was in the bar, and an AC/DC song came on. I started doing the line dance to AC/DC..and it worked..LOL So when I had customers and I heard a song that might be good with the dance, I would dance a few steps..and I got people interested in learning. It was really fun. I can still do the electric slide, and The Cupid Shuffle. Good Luck..keep dancin'.

The Cupid shuffle is one of the ones we're doing. That and the Nutbush. I'm sure the dances work with a lot of songs.

@Ghostlady The Nutbush is a bit faster and I have to be careful not to lose my balance.

Back in the 1980s I tried that but no matter how simple I just couldn't get the hang of it

I read your comment as dancing 'in' a line and was going to say no-one said it had to be a straight line.

That would be fun. And you are practicing it every day. So, you will be really good on the final day. I love that picture from your wedding..both of you look so happy together . I have missed my Sunday zumba classes in the last one month. I should rather start going on some weekday evening. Sunday morning gets too busy

I am used to seeing photos in color these days, so seeing black and white feels a little different. Seeing them does make a difference in the feeling. I wish you luck with your dance practice, and maybe you will be able to perform the second one while basking in the spotlight.

Black and white photos are coming back into fashion a little. Some photos do look better in black and white.

Yes, it is an easy dance to learn but sometimes my mind goes blank so I want to practise and be sure that I know what to do.

I've practised today and will do so over the next few days. They are both simple dances but that doesn't always mean much.

I love the photo of you and Vince dancing at your wedding. I'm a big fan of country music but don't think I'd be able to remember all those steps and stay in line with everyone else. The country & western night sounds like fun and hope you are able to do those steps. Please don't fall!!

These are the simplest dances you could find but it can still be easy to get confused. Thankfully I won't be dancing in high heels so I should be safe from fallilng.

I'm sure it'll be fun! I love to dance but I have a rubbish memory so if the moves are too complicated I can't remember what I'm supposed to do in what order! Never tried line dancing, I guess I didn't fancy the cowboy image (and it isn't such a big thing around here) but maybe I should give it a go.

Line-dancing is a bit less yee-ha than boot-scooting but they both around the state. I tend to forget the steps too, even if it's easy but I've been practicing!! You couldn't get anything much easier than the two we're doing but I still tend to go blank from time to time.

I love the pictures you share on here! Line dancing has always sounded so fun to me, but the closest I get to any dancing is the Hokey Pokey.
