Day 179 – First Deuteronomy 13:1 “If there arises among you a prophet or a dreamer of dreams, and he gives you a sign or a wonder, 2 and the sign or the wonder comes to pass, of which he spoke to you, saying, ‘Let us go after other elohiym’ —which you have not known— ‘and let us serve them,’ 3 you will not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams, for JEHOVAH your Elohiym tests you to know whether you love JEHOVAH your Elohiym with all your heart and with all your soul. 4 You will walk after JEHOVAH your Elohiym and fear Him, and keep His commandments and obey His voice, and you will serve Him and hold fast to Him. 5 You will put to death the prophet or dreamer of dreams, because he spoke to turn you away from JEHOVAH your Elohiym, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of bondage, to entice you from the way in which JEHOVAH your Elohiym commanded you to walk. You will put away the evil from your midst. 6 “If your brother, the son of your mother, your son or your daughter, the wife of your bosom, or your friend who is as your own soul, secretly entices you, saying, ‘Let us go and serve other elohiym,’ which you have not known, neither you nor your fathers, 7 of the gods of the people which are around you, near to you or far off from you, from one end of the earth to the other end of the earth, 8 you will not consent to him or listen to him, nor will your eye pity him, nor will you spare him or conceal him; 9 but you will kill him; your hand will be first against him to put him to death, and afterward the hand of the people. 10 You will stone him with stones until he dies, because he sought to entice you away from JEHOVAH your Elohiym, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage. 11 Israel will hear and fear, and not again do such wickedness as this among you. 12 “If you hear someone in one of your cities, which JEHOVAH your God gives you to dwell in, saying, 13 ‘Corrupt men have gone out from among you and enticed the inhabitants of their city, saying, “Let us go and serve other gods”’ —which you have not known— 14 then you will inquire, search out, and ask diligently. If it is indeed true and certain that such an abomination was committed among you, 15 you will strike the inhabitants of the city with the edge of the sword—destroying it, everything in it and its livestock, with the edge of the sword. 16 You will gather its plunder into the middle of the street, and burn with fire the city and its plunder, for JEHOVAH your Elohiym. It will be a heap forever; it will not be built again. 17 None of the accursed things will remain in your hand, that JEHOVAH may turn from the fierceness of His anger and show you mercy, have compassion on you and multiply you, just as He swore to your fathers, 18 "because you listened to the voice of JEHOVAH your Elohiym, to keep all His commandments which I command you today, to do what is right in the eyes of JEHOVAH your Elohiym. God’s names: JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal Elohiym – Supreme God Yeshuwa – Jesus Iesous – Jesus Theos – Supreme Divinity God’s character: Holy Jealous Merciful People kill those who don’t follow their elohiym, and the outcry against them reaches across the globe. They want to kill those who destroy others in the name of their elohiym. People will not tolerate inhumane acts from others. Moses told Israel what JEHOVAH required regarding those who led others away from Him to serve other elohiym. He told them they were to destroy those who led them away from JEHOVAH to seek and serve the elohiym of the nations they would cross over Jordan to destroy. JEHOVAH wanted their total devotion and service. It was the first commandment He gave them. Exodus 20:3 “You will have no other gods before Me. 4 You will not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything in heaven above, or in the earth beneath, or in the water under the earth; 5 you will not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, JEHOVAH your Elohiym, am a jealous Elohiym, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, 6 but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments. How many elohiym do you serve? What takes first place in your life? Your elohiym does not need to be other religious idols, but whatever you place above Elohiym. When you accepted Yeshuwa, JEHOVAH’S Son, as your Savior and Lord, you committed to put Him first in your life. Everything else in your life would follow—family, work, hobbies, time, friends, anything you placed ahead of Elohiym would take a lesser position in your life. If it didn’t, you placed it in the position of idol worship. When you set JEHOVAH as your priority, everything in your life will fall in place. You will enjoy your family and friends, have time for your hobbies, and other extracurricular activities. You need to put Yeshuwa first in your life. Matthew 6:33 Seek first the kingdom of Theos and His righteousness, and everything will be added to you. Mark 10:29 Iesous answered and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, 30 who will not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life. Assess your life. What or who is in first place? It won’t be people who will destroy you if you don’t serve Elohiym with all your heart and soul. He will when you see Him face to face. Don’t wait until it’s too late to accept Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord. Do it now. Today is the day of salvation. Today when you hear His voice don’t turn your heart away from Him. Trust Him and know the assurance of salvation and eternal life with Him. Let’s pray: Father, thank you for Your salvation. Help me keep You in first place in my life so I will not face Your destruction when I see You face to face. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
