Day 181 – Debt Deuteronomy 15:1 “At the end of every seven years you will grant a release of debts. 2 This is the form of the release: Every creditor who has lent anything to his neighbor will release it; he will not require it of his neighbor or his brother, because it is called JEHOVAH’S release. 3 Of a foreigner you may require it; but you will give up your claim to what is owed by your brother, 4 except when there may be no poor among you; for JEHOVAH will greatly bless you in the land which JEHOVAH your Elohiym gives you to possess as an inheritance— 5 only if you carefully obey the voice of JEHOVAH your Elohiym, to observe with care these commandments which I command you today. 6 For JEHOVAH your Elohiym will bless you just as He promised you; you will lend to many nations, but you will not borrow; you will reign over many nations, but they will not reign over you. 7 If there is among you a poor man of your brethren, within any of the gates in your land which JEHOVAH your Elohiym gives you, you will not harden your heart nor shut your hand from your poor brother, 8 but you will open your hand wide to him and willingly lend him sufficient for his need, whatever he needs. 9 Beware lest there be a wicked thought in your heart, saying, ‘The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand,’ and your eye be evil against your poor brother, and you give him nothing, and he cry out to JEHOVAH against you, and it becomes sin among you. 10 You will give to him, and your heart should not be grieved when you give to him, because for this thing JEHOVAH your Elohiym will bless you in your works and in everything to which you put your hand. 11 For the poor will never cease from the land; therefore, I command you, saying, ‘You will open your hand wide to your brother, to your poor and your needy, in your land.’ 12 “If your brother, a Hebrew man, or a Hebrew woman, is sold to you and serves you six years, then in the seventh year you will let him go free from you. 13 When you send him away free from you, you will not let him go away empty-handed; 14 you will supply him liberally from your flock, from your threshing floor, and from your winepress. From what JEHOVAH has blessed you with, you will give to him. 15 You will remember you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and JEHOVAH your Elohiym redeemed you; therefore, I command you this thing today. 16 If it happens that he says to you, ‘I will not go away from you,’ because he loves you and your house, since he prospers with you, 17 then you will take an awl and thrust it through his ear to the door, and he will be your servant forever. Also, to your female servant you will do likewise. 18 It will not seem hard to you when you send him away free from you; for he has been worth a double hired servant in serving you six years. Then JEHOVAH your Elohiym will bless you in everything you do. 19 “Every firstborn male that comes from your herd and your flock you will sanctify to JEHOVAH your Elohiym; you will do no work with the firstborn of your herd, nor shear the firstborn of your flock. 20 You and your household will eat it before JEHOVAH your Elohiym year by year in the place which JEHOVAH chooses. 21 However, if there is a defect in it, if it is lame or blind or has any serious defect, you will not sacrifice it to JEHOVAH your Elohiym. 22 You may eat it within your gates; the unclean and the clean person alike may eat it, as if it were a gazelle or a deer. 23 Only you will not eat its blood; you will pour it on the ground like water. God’s names: JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal Elohiym – Supreme God Yeshuwa – Jesus Christos – Anointed One Theos – Supreme Divinity God’s character: Redeemer You can’t get away from debt. The average debt per household in America is $179,850. It includes credit card debt, student loans, auto loans, and mortgages. Everyone owes money to someone, even if it is standard monthly bills. (Ramsey Report) Moses told the people JEHOVAH required them to cancel every debt every seven years. It included if they hired their people as servants. They were to release them in the seventh year. It didn’t mean seven years from the time they made their debt, but every seven years from the moment they entered the Promised Land. If you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, you know He canceled your debt on the cross. It wasn’t a monetary debt, but a sin debt. He paid your sin debt with His blood, the only acceptable means of cancelation Satan required from Him when He died on the cross for you. Satan required it because you were in bondage to Satan until you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord. Everyone sins. Every day you need to confess your sin to Yeshuwa. If you don’t, Satan will bring accusations against you to the Father. In the end of the Tribulation Elohim will cast Satan down. He will no longer accuse you before Elohiym. Revelation 12:10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, strength, the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christos have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our Theos day and night, has been cast down. Yeshuwa paid your debt. What have you given Him in exchange? Do you live a thankful life? Do you praise Him for what He did for you? Or do you take what He did for you for granted, as if He owed you salvation? Yeshuwa owed you nothing. Of His free will, He went to the cross to cancel your debt. Every day you should give Him praise and thanksgiving for what He did for you. When you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, you obtained a new debt, a life of service to Him. You live to serve Him. Yet His service isn’t burdensome. When the hired servant told his master he didn’t want to go free, his master took him to the doorpost and bored his ear, proclaiming he was his servant forever. You are Yeshuwa’s servant because You accepted Him as Savior and Lord. Not only did Yeshuwa cancel your debt on the cross, but He carries your burdens, so you won’t need to. No one else does that for you. You need to pay your debts to the person who loaned you the money. With Yeshuwa, you have no debt. You owe Him nothing except your praise and thanksgiving. Let’s pray: Father, thank you for sending Your Son, to cancel my debt to Satan on the cross. Let me praise You for everything You did for me as I live for You debt free. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
