On Monday US regulators approved a blood test for detecting colon cancer in adults over 45 who are at average risk. Right now the out-of-pocket cost is $895. When FDA approval is obtained, insurance companies will most likely pick up this test. The effectiveness of the test is said to be equal to the stool-based tests such as Cologuard. It does not replace the effectiveness of a colonoscopy. This is good news for me because I would prefer a blood test to Cologuard or a colonoscopy.
The Covid-19 virus is widespread in US wildlife. SARS-CoV-2 has been found in deer mice, opossums, raccoons, groundhogs, red bats and cottontail rabbits. It has been found near hiking trails and high-traffic public areas which suggests that the virus is passed from humans to animals. There is no evidence that the virus can be passed from animals to humans. The virus was previously found in white-tailed deer and feral mink.
The bad news is that people are overdosing on the weight loss injection drugs. The good news is that the injections are found to help people stop smoking.

Weight loss should be done in natural way with diet and exercise. But then it's a slow process and people want instant results at the cost of their health.
I hope that the virus doesn't pass from animal to human. We can't have another pandemic. We are still to recover from the impacts of the last one.

Right now the virus can't pass from animal to humans; but you never know if it mutates.

@LindaOHio Hmm...and this virus is very quick with mutation. It has done it so many times.

I read a headline that said they’re on the brink of an Alzheimer’s blood test, too. The problem is I’m not “average risk” (family history of colon cancer and polyps, and I have polyps), so I have to have a colonoscopy.

Yes I read about the Alzheimer's test. My husband has polyps too and has to have a colonoscopy. I feel sorry for you both.

Hmmm... I wonder if that blood test will eventually become part of routine blood tests.

I hope so. I hate colonoscopies and I don't like Cologuard.

I don't like it. I have one in the bathroom right now and haven't done it.
