Good sunny afternoon.
Chilly made it another night. He's started to meow frequently.George and I think he likely won't make it another day. Chinnia did a lot of meowing the day or two before, as her senses started to shut down. I suspect that Chilly is doing the same. He's at the foot of the couch, where he's facing George. I'll let you know.

I couldn't stand to let them suffer like that, I'd be went to the vet
& let them do what needs to be done no matter the cost.

Cost isn't the issue, believe me. Our vet doesn't even charge to put animals down if they've been seen within the last year. At best, we'd be charged a vet visit and bloodwork. But, that's not why George and I haven't gone to the vet.
Chillly is sleeping peacefully and can adjust himself. I do not see a reason to cram him in a carrier, (which would be painful) Drag him to the vet, where he'd be srounded by loud noise and strong smells. Pulled out of his carrier to be put down. I don't want him crying in pain when the first shot is injected. That would be too cruel.

@wolfgirl569 Our vets don't come to peoples homes to put them down. Never the less, even if I did find one, I would not want his last moments to be full of fear and pain. He's comfortable, doing a lot of sleeping.

@kaylachan I am thankful my vet will come to the house for that. Makes it a lot easier for everyone. I hope he can go peacefully. I have done both ways depending on how the animal was acting. I do wish I had a vet that didn't charge for it. All of them in my area does.
