Is WW3 Imminent?

No. But we're getting much closer, and while it is uncomfortable to hear, I blame a lack of world leadership coming from the White House that signals to the world's enemies—it's go time.
Will it happen tomorrow? Of course not. But I think the world is watching us very closely.
If Kamala Harris wins, it's the signal. The same signal I think Putin got before he invaded Ukraine after he saw the disastrous withdrawal by the Biden administration from Afghanistan.
"The giant is asleep. But very asleep this time. It's time to act."
You have to consider some things here. Putin is already in Ukraine. He's met with Kim Jong-Un in North Korea, and North Korea is ramping up its nuclear efforts and has signaled targeting nuclear cannon fodder towards U.S. allies South Korea and Japan.
Who is to say Putin won't help North Korea in a war effort against us or against our allies?
On top of that three nations have warned Iran not to strike Israel in retaliation for the air strikes that led to the death of a Hamas leader, and they have flat out ignored those warnings.
If Japan or South Korea is attacked by North Korea, America is at war. Potentially with North Korea and Russia, who may rush to North Korea's aid.
What happens if Iran strikes Israel? The United States is at war to protect Israel. And who else defends Iran? Russia.
If you have South Korea, Japan, Russia, Ukraine, Israel, the United States, and if that happened the United Kingdom, France and Germany would likely go to war as well...
You have World War Three folks. This is not a warning. It's a realization that I think we have our interests and priorities focused in the wrong place and what we need more than ever at the top is the strongest leadership we can muster who can at least be a force against lining up the troops of our enemies when they think no one will stop them.
Beyond that, what happens in China? While all this is going on they figure, "What the hell? We've wanted Taiwan for a while now. Seems like a good time to go after it while everyone is busy fighting everywhere else."

I'm sitting this one out. I have all my priorities in order, paid my dues, keep to my faith and I am ready when and if I need to step through those pearly gates hoping my loved ones are waiting for me, My parents went through WW II this of course could wipe out the world in one fell swoop, If meant to happen nothing will stop it from happening,

Strong leadership is what stops it. You have to remember back to World War II and what prompted the Japanese to strike. The United States was sitting back and trying to remain silent as the world warred. The sleeping giant reference refers to the reaction of a Japanese admiral at the time who thought the air strikes were a bad idea and quipped, "I fear we have awakened the sleeping dragon."
The world is unchecked right now because we do not have any leadership here in the United States. Like it or not, we are the world's superpower, and that means something. It's like the role of the playground monitor. If Jonny and Sammy start fighting, the fighting will only go so far until the monitor puts an end to it.
Faith cannot stop wars. Only leadership can, and strong deterrence. It's of the utmost importance, I think, that we as a nation not only consider who can lead the country, but who can lead the world, and we need to take that very seriously. On top of that, we need to fully understand how we got here.
History can help us to understand that. Again, WWII serves as a glaring example of what happens when our enemies think we have lost our focus.
I am not saying it WILL happen. I am not even saying it won't happen under Trump. But I do think that as a country we have been far too focused on things that aren't important and that is shifting our focus away from national security enough so that our enemies are seeing an opportunity that they have not had for a very long time.
I also contend that the United States military is in a VERY weakened position right now. How strong can we be in a moment's notice if the world is at war, and we have to be in Israel, Japan, South Korea and Iran at the same time?
The draft would come back. It would have to. But what will the fighting forces look like now compared to when WWII happened? How strong of a force will that be? Now is not the time to sit back and wait for things to happen and hope they turn in our favor. Now is the time to unite as a people and show the strength and solidarity and might this country has always been known for.
We need to be patriots.

The scary part is that during WWII only we had nuclear weapons. Now the world does. And I am not sure everyone who has them has the level of restraint needed to prevent their use. In the case of the United States, our use of them ENDED the war. If they are used now, it could very well be the end of the world.
With our weakened state, I fear we would have a very difficult time fighting multiple wars. While we have been focusing on inclusion and diversity and things of that nature, our enemies have been bolstering their troops and arms and turning them into formidable fighters very patriotic to their country's causes.
Meanwhile, Americans kneel for the anthem.

I hope it doesn't come to that. All the more reason Trump should win.

@porwest She wouldn't. For all we know, she could be running the country and making the decisions, using Biden's obvious mental decline to further her agenda. Now, I know how tin hat that sounds, but I don't think I'm the only one who feels that way.

@kaylachan I don't think Biden has been making any decisions for a very long time. Who is, we might never know.

I think he presents the stronger leadership we need right now, and I don't say that as a Trump supporter. But come on, Kamala couldn't even seal the damn border. How in the hell is she going to command a major world situation that could lead to a major war?

Apparently you don't watch the news much. Iran has threatened us and we are doing drills with the South Koreans based on nuclear war threats from North Korea against U.S. allies. If you don't think something is brewing and our enemies are watching this election....
You need to put down the bowl or bong and wake up!

Things could definitely start brewing up. We hope for things somehow to trip things up confuse things and give leaders a reason to stay quiet. Strategy is going to be the key. Hope they will find good foreign policy strategists.

The resolve of our nation, and the lack of strength of our military right now, signals to me that the US couldn’t handle a multi-front war right now…which would definitely be the case if WW3 broke out. And if we continue to have weak presidents, then maybe our Pentagon needs to step in…

Are you serious? The Afghanistan thing was something that TRUMP arranged. Of course Putin would have invaded Ukraine if Trump was president. He is his lap dog. He would have withheld all aid to Ukraine. If he gets re-elected he will withhold aid and Putin will go after Estonia and other Baltic states. That will trigger Article 5 of NATO and BAM the US now will be in a war with Russia. It is amazing how short-sighted Republicans are.
