Day 215 – Portion Joshua 17:1 A lot for the tribe of Manasseh, for he was the firstborn of Joseph: namely for Machir the firstborn of Manasseh, the father of Gilead, because he was a man of war; therefore, he was given Gilead and Bashan. 2 A lot also fell for the rest of the children of Manasseh according to their families: for the children of Abiezer, the children of Helek, the children of Asriel, the children of Shechem, the children of Hepher, and the children of Shemida; these were the male children of Manasseh the son of Joseph according to their families. 3 However, Zelophehad the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, had no sons, but only daughters. These are the names of his daughters: Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah. 4 They came near before Eleazar the priest, before Joshua the son of Nun, and before the rulers, saying, “JEHOVAH commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brothers.” Therefore, according to the commandment of JEHOVAH, he gave them an inheritance among their father's brothers. 5 Ten shares fell to Manasseh, besides the land of Gilead and Bashan, which were on the other side of the Jordan, 6 because the daughters of Manasseh received an inheritance among his sons; and the rest of Manasseh’s sons had the land of Gilead. 14 Then the children of Joseph spoke to Joshua, saying, “Why have you given us only one lot and one share to inherit, since we are a great people, inasmuch as JEHOVAH blessed us until now?” 15 Joshua answered them, “If you are a great people, then go up to the forest country and clear a place for yourself there in the land of the Perizzites and the giants, since the mountains of Ephraim are too confined for you.” 16 The children of Joseph said, “The mountain country is not enough for us; and the Canaanites who dwell in the land of the valley have chariots of iron, both those who are of Beth Shean and its towns and those of the Valley of Jezreel.” 17 Joshua spoke to the house of Joseph—to Ephraim and Manasseh—saying, “You are a great people and have great power; you will not have only one lot, 18 but the mountain country will be yours. Although it is wooded, you will cut it down, and its farthest extent will be yours; for you will drive out the Canaanites, though they have iron chariots and are strong.” God’s names: JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal Yeshuwa – Jesus Theos – Supreme Divinity God’s character: Portion Everyone wants what they believe belongs to them by right of inheritance, or because they earned it. They want the same share as everyone else. When Joshua divided the land by lot, Zelophehad’s daughters reminded him that JEHOVAH promised them a share among their brothers. Joshua gave them their inheritance in the land of Gilead. The tribe of Ephraim also asked for a larger portion because they were a large tribe, and Joshua told them to take the mountain country and drive out the Canaanites, though they had chariots of iron. When you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, did you remind Him about your portion among His people? Or did you allow Satan to take your portion because he posed as someone more powerful than you? Who is stronger Satan or JEHOVAH? You know the answer. If then you know JEHOVAH is stronger why do you allow Satan to steal your portion and put you under tribute instead of casting him out of your life? 1 John 4:4 You are of Theos, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. You have the power to cast Satan out of your life. Don’t let him steal what Theos promised you. Take back what he stole and live the life Yeshuwa promised you as His child. Don’t let Satan convince you that you’re powerless when you have JEHOVAH’S power living in you as His child. Yeshuwa defeated him on the cross. Satan is nothing in your life. Put him on notice and cast him out. You’re a child of the KING of Kings and the LORD of Lords. You have a portion in Him as His child. Let’s pray: Father, too often I stand aside and allow Satan to have power over me when I should stand against him and cast him out. Help me stand against Him with the power of Your Word and the sword of faith in my hand because greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. We must tell ourselves that Satan is not strong enough to affect us with God by our side. Have a blessed day.

Yes, we continually must retain our vigilance to cast out Satan, and his interference in our lives, which can deceive us at times, and lead us astray. We need to keep strong prayer contact with God, to buffer us against the forces of evil.
