Noisy Northern Lights?

A couple of weeks ago, The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration forecasted that the aurora borealis( or Northern Lights) would be seen in several continental U.S. states. Those on a late-night YouTube channel that I listen to were discussing this. One of the women said that she had a condition called 'synesthesia'. She said that she can hear the northern lights when they are close. She said it sounds like a dog whistle and it wavers in pitch. This phenomenon is where the stimulation of one sensory or cognitive pathway leads to automatic and involuntary experiences in a second sensory pathway simultaneously. This can involve seeing colors when listening to music or, associating certain tastes with numbers or words. A person who experiences this is called a synesthete. Have you heard of this or know anyone who has it?

I've heard of it, but I've never experenced it that I'm aware of. My hearing is strange, as I do pick up sounds others don't, but nothing for my other senses.
