Day 216 – Inheritance
Joshua 18:1 Now the whole congregation of the children of Israel assembled at Shiloh and set up the tabernacle of meeting there. The land was subdued before them. 2 However, there remained among the children of Israel seven tribes which had not yet received their inheritance.
3 Then Joshua said to the children of Israel, “How long will you neglect to go and possess the land which JEHOVAH Elohiym of your fathers has given you? 4 Pick out from among you three men for each tribe, and I will send them; they will rise and go through the land, survey it according to their inheritance, and come back to me. 5 They will divide it into seven parts. Judah will remain in their territory on the south, and the house of Joseph will remain in their territory on the north. 6 You will therefore survey the land in seven parts and bring the survey here to me, that I may cast lots for you here before JEHOVAH our Elohiym. 7 However, the Levites have no part among you, for the priesthood of JEHOVAH is their inheritance. Also, Gad, Reuben, and half the tribe of Manasseh received their inheritance beyond the Jordan on the east, which Moses the servant of JEHOVAH gave them.”
8 Then the men arose to go away; and Joshua charged those who went to survey the land, saying, “Go, walk through the land, survey it, and come back to me, that I may cast lots for you here before JEHOVAH in Shiloh.”
9 So the men went, passed through the land, and wrote the survey in a book in seven parts by cities; and they came to Joshua at the camp in Shiloh.
10 Then Joshua cast lots for them in Shiloh before JEHOVAH, and there Joshua divided the land to the children of Israel according to their divisions.
God’s names:

Elohiym – Supreme God
Yeshuwa – Jesus
Christos – Anointed One, Messiah
God’s character:
Provider
Many people hesitate over what they know they need to do. They research everything concerning possible options before they do what they must.
Israel crossed over the Jordan River. They fought the people of the land for their inheritance, yet seven tribes still had not taken possession of their inheritance. Joshua told them to search the land, describe it in a book and bring the description back to him and he would cast lots for the tribes for their inheritance.
When you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, you received an inheritance in the kingdom of Elohiym. Yet many Christians have not taken possession of what Yeshuwa gave them. They remain in the squalor of their faith. They don’t open their Bibles, attend church, or associate with other believers. They don’t know the inheritance they have in Yeshuwa.
Joshua urged the leaders of the seven tribes to search the land, write the description in a book, and bring it back to him. Many pastors do the same thing for their congregation. They tell their people to read their Bibles, study, and pray. They offer small groups so they can learn and grow in their faith. Yet many Christians prefer living behind their doors and hope Satan won’t find them. Don’t worry. He did. Satan keeps Christians from seeking Elohiym and taking possession of the inheritance He promised them.
When you open your Bible and read about your inheritance, you won’t hesitate to take possession of what JEHOVAH promised you. You need to get out of your complacency regarding what Elohiym gave you and step out in faith and receive everything Elohiym promised you in His Word. When you do, you will cast Satan and his schemes from you and take possession of the promises and your inheritance in the body of Christos. Are you ready to step out in faith and take possession of your inheritance?
Let’s pray: Father, help me step out in faith and grab hold of the inheritance You promised me in Your Word. Help me cast off every hindrance to my inheritance as I take possession of everything You have for me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
