Day 217 – Portion Joshua 19:49 When they had made an end of dividing the land as an inheritance according to their borders, the children of Israel gave an inheritance among them to Joshua the son of Nun. 50 According to the word of JEHOVAH, they gave him the city which he asked for, Timnath Serah in the mountains of Ephraim; and he built the city and dwelt in it. 51 These were the inheritances which Eleazar the priest, Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel divided as an inheritance by lot in Shiloh before JEHOVAH, at the door of the tabernacle of meeting. They made an end to dividing the country. God’s names: JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal Yeshuwa – Jesus God’s character: Portion From the time you entered the world to the present time, you learned about division. You divided the chores as children, income as adults, whatever you could divide, you divided. Israel divided the land of Canaan by lot. Each tribe had a portion of the land. Each portion of the land came with the cities in the portion they received. When they finished dividing the land, Joshua took his portion of the land as JEHOVAH promised. When you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, He gave you a portion of His inheritance. You didn’t need to fight for your portion as Israel did. Yeshuwa did that on the cross when He defeated Satan. When you live in the promises JEHOVAH gave you in His Word, you live in your portion. Many Christians don’t know what their portion is because they haven’t opened their Bibles to know what belongs to them. When you read and study JEHOVAH’S Word, you can see your portion. Your portion is in JEHOVAH who loved you so much, He sent His Son, Yeshuwa to die for you. You need to take your portion out of Satan’s control. It doesn’t belong to him. It belongs to you as a child of the KING of Kings and the LORD of Lords. Let’s pray: Father, thank you that my portion is in You, the author and finisher of my faith.
