Day 219 – Possession Joshua 21:1 Then the heads of the fathers’ houses of the Levites came near to Eleazar the priest, to Joshua the son of Nun, and to the heads of the fathers’ houses of the tribes of the children of Israel. 2 They spoke to them at Shiloh in the land of Canaan, saying, “JEHOVAH commanded through Moses to give us cities to dwell in, with their common lands for our livestock.” 3 The children of Israel gave to the Levites from their inheritance, at the commandment of JEHOVAH, these cities and their common lands: 4 Now the lot came out for the families of the Kohathites. The children of Aaron the priest, who were of the Levites, had thirteen cities by lot from the tribe of Judah, from the tribe of Simeon, and from the tribe of Benjamin. 5 The rest of the children of Kohath had ten cities by lot from the families of the tribe of Ephraim, from the tribe of Dan, and from the half-tribe of Manasseh. 6 The children of Gershon had thirteen cities by lot from the families of the tribe of Issachar, from the tribe of Asher, from the tribe of Naphtali, and from the half-tribe of Manasseh in Bashan. 7 The children of Merari according to their families had twelve cities from the tribe of Reuben, from the tribe of Gad, and from the tribe of Zebulun. 8 The children of Israel gave these cities with their common lands by lot to the Levites, as JEHOVAH had commanded by the hand of Moses. 41 The children of Israel gave forty-eight cities within their possession to the Levites with their common lands. 42 Every one of those cities had its common land surrounding it; thus were those cities. 43 JEHOVAH gave to Israel the entire land of which He had sworn to give to their fathers, and they took possession of it and dwelt in it. 44 JEHOVAH gave them rest, according to everything He had sworn to their fathers. Not a man of their enemies stood against them; JEHOVAH delivered their enemies into their hand. 45 Not a word failed of any good thing which JEHOVAH had spoken to the house of Israel. Everything came to pass. God’s name: JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal Yeshuwa – Jesus God’s character: Promise Keeper Did someone promise you something and then you needed to fight to obtain it? Most fights involving an inheritance take place in a court of law where the judge determines what the deceased promised in the Last Will and Testament. Israel had come into their possession. Yet the Levites didn’t have their possession within the tribes of Israel as JEHOVAH promised them. When they came to Eleazar the priest, Joshua, and the heads of the tribes of Israel, they provided forty-eight cities by lot to the families of the Levites. When you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, JEHOVAH promised you a possession among His people. You didn’t need to fight for your possession, Yeshuwa did that on the cross. He took you out of bondage to Satan where you lived under his control, to a place of refuge and security found only in Him. Every promise JEHOVAH gave Israel, became your possession. Every place where your foot trod became your possession. JEHOVAH showed you where you would live, work, and enjoy the benefits as His child. He withholds nothing from you when you live a life of obedience to Him. Do you know what belongs to you? Does Satan come against you, telling you how worthless you are, and you don’t deserve what belongs to you? Don’t listen to him. He’s a liar and the father of lies. When you read and study JEHOVAH’S Word, you will know what belongs to you as His child. Take possession today and walk in the freedom you have in Yeshuwa. Let’s pray: Father, thank you for giving me a possession in You when I became Your child. Help me take back what Satan stole from me and take possession of every promise in Your Word. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. I'm always fighting companies that said they would do something and then didn't live up to their word. Have a blessed day.
