The wife and I, on our travels, while we were still driving through Georgia, had never had Bojangles before although we had always heard of it and seen them many times. We don't have any near us. So, we decided to stop for lunch. We had the Bo Chick sandwiches, I think they were called, and I won't say it wasn't good, but it was nothing impressive or even all that unique. It's on the list of been there done that, for whatever it is worth. It is always fun to try new places, though, if for no other reason than to be able to say, "Yeah, we had that." Needless to say, the last time we traveled to Florida we had Zaxby's in Alabama and our experience was pretty much the same. Nothing special.

@NJChicaa No taste? Are you kidding? I mean, definitely different flavors between a McD's burger, Hardees burger, and Burger King burger. One is just grilled, another is charbroiled, the other is flame broiled. Fast food may not be healthy, but it tastes good.

I don’t care for fast food chicken. The breading on all of it is like eating a salt lick and washing it down with the Atlantic Ocean.

A lot of it is, actually. When it comes to fried chicken, for example, I prefer Popeyes or Lee's, but they are all salty. I guess the ones I like are still salt licks, but lesser salt licks? Who knows?

Bojangles is much better known for being a breakfast place. At least around here. Zaxby's used to be good, but I think they've become too corporate now and too focused on profits instead of providing the great food they became famous for in the beginning.

@porwest I do remember them struggling and then being taken over by a private company. I'll eat there is I have no other choice, but given choices I will probably pick somewhere else first.

Interesting. I did not know that. Seems that after I read about them and did some research, just because I am a business curious guy, they went private being taken over by a company because their business was not doing so well. Not much on how they are doing now. I mean, it wasn't awful by any stretch. Just nothing special that made me go, "The next time we are by one let's make sure to go again."

@moffittjc This makes me think of Chuy's, which was actually doing pretty good, and then in 24 they sold and became part of Darden's, which is not necessarily a good thing. Darden has never been a great run company and if anyone can kill Chuy's, it's Darden. I have never eaten there, though, but I've heard lots about it and it looks interesting.

I'm sorry it was nothing to write home about. Disappointing. At least you can say you been there.

@porwest Usually it pays to have what they are known for. My husband will go to a spaghetti house and have steak.

@LindaOHio lol. I wonder if the steak is any good considering they are known for spaghetti? lol

Problem is, I have never liked the biscuits anywhere they are served. lol But maybe their fried chicken would have been better? Of course, we were driving, so we got something easy to eat on the road.
