That silly Bruno

I decided to take an early shower. He ran in and jumped in the tub where the warm water was running. That did not bother him a bit.
However, when I turned on the overhead water, he bailed on me. He thought that the fast running water was attacking him. Right now he is laying on the desk holding on to my left arm with one paw.
So I have an affectionate kitty.
One of our students today decided to "play" with me and be a cuddle bug. When she is in a good mood she is a lot of fun. You do understand, I am sure, that most of the kiddos in our class have communications deficits. They do not talk, at least not in a conventional manner.
My primary student had four very small seizures today. One reason I came back full time is that he really needs someone to pay close attention, someone who knows him. The increasing seizures are part of the prognosis of his disability.
So that is the story of my interactions for today.

We often get reminded that behavior is in fact communication.

Chilly loved to drink out of the tub when I would bathe. This didn't start until he decided the tub wasn't a becon of doom. My husband's cat, Smokey, often jumped into the shower while he showered.

@kaylachan The cat that liked water was a Turkish Van. That is a breed that tends to like water. I agree, most of them do not.

These were the small kind of seizure, but still concerning. It turns out that his brother who gets him ready forgot to give him his medicine.

They were very brief seizures, and it turns out someone forgot to give the child his seizure medicine that day.

I can understand how you really get to know your students. It's the same with animals. If you pay close attention, you can pick up on all sorts of cues. As for Bruno, I knew a man who, when watching TV, had to hold the paw of his blue heeler.

Poor Bruno the kitty got scared. It must be difficult to watch a student go through that but good you are there for him,

It worries all of us when we do not know the reason. In this case his medication had been forgotten.

I'm sorry to hear about the student with seizures. You certainly are a very caring individual. Funny that Bruno jumped into the tub! Have a good day.

He wants to be with me where ever I am. I am wondering if I can get him used to the idea of bathing.
