The Friday the 13th

Most people that I am talking with are emphasizing today's day. It is not that special, but they perceived the day as an omen. For the reason that today is Friday the 13th in my country. During my younger years, I always thought it was a scary day because of movies that showed bad things happening on this particular day. As the years went by, I was treated as normal. Are you that superstitious? Image Credit: cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net

Nope. Growing up, I always heard that it is a bad luck or bad day to have a Friday the 13th. But I don't think so. It's just an ordinary day for me. Actually my favorite number is 13.

As I looked back, most people close to me believed that it was an omen day. At that time, I do not care about it. I just find weird when they think that way.

Happy birthday to you, Kandase. I hope you had enjoyed your natal's day. It does make sense, right? It is just either an ordinary or special day.

I almost didn't realize that today is Black Friday. Wondering whether there will be a special sale today

I am not sure if they do that in Guangdong province. I am pretty sure there will be in Hong Kong.

Not really, and especially not of Friday the 13th?

Even I cannot believe it. Although I am pretty sure that some Filipinos adapted this dark side notion from the films that they had watched, specifically the horror genre.

@Shavkat I grew up with the stories. The only thing about walking under laders and mirriors I ever cared about is, getting cut by glass I can't see or not know who or what could be on the ladder. Black cats, I used to have two. Left one behind when I moved to Daytona, and we rehomed the other because he wasn't getting along with our other cats. When George's driving again and more recovered, we might get another black cat. We're hoping to find a bonded pair, so we don't have the drama of two cats getting along to add to the stress of bringing them into a new home.

@kaylachan I used to have a black cat. My grandmother called my attention about the bad luck of having one. I just told her that we cannot control having a kitten like this.

I am not superstitious at all. Friday the 13th is just another day to me.

It is also the same thing with me. There is nothing wrong if they believed in, but it is not for me to worry about it.

I didn't realise it was Friday the 13th. It doesn't have any bad connotations to me.

I also agree with you. During my school days, I always hear bad notions about it from my classmates. As for me, it was just an ordinary day.

Not much anymore. Seemed like today was just another Friday. I had even forgotten it was the 13th. One of favorite sayings is "if I didn't have "bad luck" I'd have none at all." Good things and bad things happen to people no matter what date it is...
