Handling multiple tasks simultaneously is often marked as efficient ways of handling and for better time management. In the fast-paced world, it is a much-desired skill. In many cases, I have often felt multitasking actually reduced productivity and at times cause higher stress and mental strains. Listening to music while cleaning is a good multitasking unless you want to enjoy the music and at same time deep focus on cleaning. Same is true with office work. Attending meetings and sending mails or doing any other word can be a big challenge. Constant juggling between tasks has often contributed to fatigue and burnout. In my last job, I had to take a 3 month break because of the constant multitasking and fatigue. I am now happier to focus on one activity at a time. So, do you think multitasking contribute to higher stress and mental strain leading to a mental exhaustion?

@RevivedWarrior I agree with you but I must admit when I am busy on the PC I do forget the milk on the gas sometimes (lol)

Unless the tasks involved in multitasking needs focus or increases mental load, it is all fine with multitasking. Thanks for sharing!

For me, I'd have to say no. However, I think it's indivuialized. Some people can take on to many tasks at once, which will stress even the strongest person out. However, if you're putting on a show or movie, while cleaning or doing light office work, you can be very productive. The key is not to take on to much in the interest of saving time.

Unless the tasks need much focus or there is mental load involved, multitasking is good. Thanks for sharing!

@RevivedWarrior It's better for a lot of people if they can multi-task. The world is full of distractions and a person can't stop living because of them.
