The Best Survey I Never Did

Yesterday, going through the daily mail, there was an 8x11 white envelope from the Reproductive Health Experiences and Access Survey. Looking at the transparent square on the bottom left corner where the address shows through I could see the color of money.
It was enough to force me to at least open what would otherwise just be thrown into the garbage.
Sure enough, there was a genuine $5 bill inside and it came with an offer to complete the survey and earn another $10. Of course, the survey would have been for my wife to take. I do not have anything to do with reproductive health.
Unfortunately, she was unable to participate since the top age to respond is 49 and my wife is much older than that.
Nonetheless, I was happy to be paid $5 anyway for a survey I never had to do. I'll call that a good day's work.

I just got something similar in the mail the other day, with three $1 bills in it. I can't remember what the survey was for, but I pocketed the three bucks and threw away the rest of the survey materials.

@porwest I wonder what the response rate is on surveys where they send you a cash incentive? Do you think more people feel guilty about taking the cash, so take the time to sit down and complete the survey, or do you think they pocket the cash and throw the survey out with the trash?

@moffittjc I have no idea, but it must be good enough that they are willing to send cash in the mail. I DO wonder if people throw the envelopes away not realizing that there's money inside, although you can clearly see it through the window.
As for me, I will always take the cash and never feel guilty about it.

The survey was intended only for females? I ask because these days you never know lol.
$5 for doing nothing but opening an envelope. I'd take that without even thinking about it. Now who kept the money?

@porwest Have you decided what you will do with that $5 yet?

Well, the reality is that even the men pretending to be women don't have uteruses and of course can't deliver babies, so there will be no opportunity for them to seek "reproductive health care," especially if they have chopped off their baby makers and can't even CONTRIBUTE to making babies anymore.
As for the money, I of course kept it. But she gets her share of the whole till ultimately. I will just turn that $5 into more that she can have later. lol

I think we can pretty much assume that the $5 is already stewing in an investment somewhere.

I received something very similar a few months ago--it was a survey (I never do surveys, why they sent it, I have no idea) about cable TV services. There was $3 in one dollar bills enclosed. I didn't qualify for the survey, as I don't have actual cable, only internet and streaming. Maybe they were going on the fact that of course I did have cable for a long time, but at any rate, I made a free $3! Good for you, money is money.
