Does time fly quickly due to interest of work or due poor time management?

I am sure most of us have felt time flying quickly. There are times at which we see days moving quickly and sometimes even hours. Day and night come fast and we would be like “that went fast”. Question is do you feel time flying quickly when you are interested in an activity or perhaps it is due to poor time management. Engaging in a work requires focus and when we focus on something intensely, it is possible to lose track of time. There have been times at which perception of time has become secondary compared to the outcomes. At same time, I have also seen time slipping away on works due to disorganization or lack of planning. Proper planning can also make time fly without any good outcomes. So in your opinion in which case have you seen time flying faster : When you are deeply focussed or when things are unplanned?

In my opinion times flies faster when I am focused on my work since my mind cannot work on one item at a time.

Depends on what I'm doing. If I'm working on something and lose myself in it, I can lose track of time. I can also lose track of time if I'm trying to do to much at once and get overwhelmed. It just depends.

The more productive I am the more I can't notice time... most of the time I work until 10PM at my past job, sometimes I don't even notice really time, the next thing I know its already 12MN, and I was about to cry, because it happened during prepandemic when busses stop operating at 11 PM... I was about to cry because I need to book a taxi and that is so expensive, I am just so happy that there is still one bus who stop by at the station, I am so relieve that night.

I guess when we are deeply focused on our work, we lose sight of time. Thanks for sharing!
