Pears

Last weekend my brother and sister-in-law shared pears with me.
One of their friends has a very productive tree. SIL has not felt like cooking since her mom passed away in July, so the pears are not getting used up.
I used about half of what I brought home just now to make a pear crisp, topped with crushed ginger snaps. It is a wonderful combination..
So that is what I have done in addition to five loads of laundry.

You can use pears in most recipes that you use apples in.

I was gifted some wonderful pears yesterday, they are delicious. Last year, I made pear jam. If I get any more, I may make some more jam, but I enjoy them in crisps and the kids like pear pie with caramel sauce.

At my other house I had a pear tree. The squirrels would come and steal them.

They are good that way as well but we have too many to eat before they go bad.

Sounds good. We had a lot of pears this year on our tree. My husband's 2nd cousin took them home but never made anything out of them. Have a good day.

I was really surprised at how well the gingersnaps pair with the pears.
