The Fruity Watch

October 1, 2024 2:46pm CST
It has arrived! I don't like wearing watches but as I've grown fond of health and fitness, my phone alone was no longer enough. I had to get a watch that could track my steps. Well, I didn't spend all that money to have it count my steps. That is only a part of the whole investment. I also want it to check my heart rate when I do cardio. I can rely on sweating and heavy breathing to tell if I'm doing it right, but cardio is ultimately about the heart so having accurate measurements is more than welcome. Oh my, this thing is heavy, and I got the smallest size! Many people on the internet say the bpm is very accurate, and I got 90ish bpm. While it is not alarming, it is high. I really need that cardio! Or maybe I'm just excited. Another feature I discovered is the ability to add animated emojis to the wallpaper. Due to the small screen size, it feels like a Tamagotchi! Except these creatures don't need to be fed and so on. And yes, the poo emoji is as cute as any other pet emoji! Do you have a smartwatch? Would you like to get one? Are there other features I should look into?

I have one with me for the same reason of wanting to know my steps. I can also track my sleep plus the things you mentioned. So it is good.

@rakski I'm not sure about tracking my sleep because I'm concerned about battery. I activated low power mode but battery drains faster than what I would like. But I'd love to try that feature too.

@rakski Then mine is not normal, I thought so. Gotta play around with the settings.

@allknowing Listening to our body is ultimately the best way to track our health. I just needed some extra motivation, I guess.

I love them. I have an Apple watch series 9. The last (or one of the last) sold by Apple before the blod oxygen issue cropped up and Apple decided to hault use of the Blood oxygen option to please other idiots. According to the tags, you, too have an Apple watch. If Fitness really is the goal, then be sure to set your rings. Your watch will also alert you while you're awake (unless you're in a focus mode) to get up every hour and "stand" for one minute. If you don't want it to do that, you can turn that off. If you aren't used to wearing a watch, the weight will take some getting used to.

@kaylachan Sad to know blood oxygen was removed. I didn't need it but if there were people who bought the watch also for this feature, that is not nice. Thank you very much for the info, I can't wait to test the rings and fitness goals. It will happen tomorrow, it's getting late now.

@wolfgirl569 Oh, that's nice! How long have you had your FitBit? And can you manage 10k steps a day? Hopefully I will.

Yes. I have one and it's useful. I bought it to monitor my sleep.

@dya80dya I've tried that feature last night but the heart rate was disabled so I don't think my reading was accurate as it relied on breathing only. It said I was deeply asleep when I was awake just because of breathing exercises. I felt like I tricked the watch, hehe. Do you find yours to be accurate? What's your sleep like, if it's okay to share?

Did it cost you $100,000.00?

@TheHorse Nope, much less, but that doesn't make it less of an investment.
