More Grilling

Went to the Dollar General today...walked in without a cart, and of course they don't have Electric carts..can't hardly get a regular cart down their aisles. Did real good..hurt a little loading the van, but when I got home, I was good. But I can NOT believe how high they have gone on prices. I can now go to Walmart and get things cheaper. Uesd to be I got my laundry detergent and spot remover cheaper there. Guess I will be going to Walmart Saturday.
Tom grilled Hamburgers on the Grill tonight and deep fried Onion Rings. I am Stuffed!
All and All it was a good Day!

The inflation and cost of living really seems to sting at the normal low-budget places because you're used to things being so cheep.

I enjoy going to those dollar stores (dollar +) now with our inflationary prices. It's like a treasure hunt finding something new. But yes, over the last 4 years, due to a number of factors some preventable, prices on just about everything has gone up. One really has to do a lot more comparing of prices as those convenience store items of the past may not be a bargain anymore.

Dollar General has never been a store with good prices, I have found. You can find some deals, sometimes. But most of the time I can get whatever they have cheaper somewhere else. Besides, the stores always look like a tornado went through them, so it's annoying to shop there anyway.

I don't know how they get away with those huge stocking carts in the aisles. Totally not a good place for a disabled person. You can barely get a cart down the aisle...a good size wheel chair would not be able to get down them. If a fire happened with all the panic all the aisles almost blocked could be dangerous. I pointed that out to the main office when I fell at one of their stores. The side of the ramp to the store had broken off and my foot went over the side and I fell. I contacted $Gen and they let me know that the owner of the property is responsible for that. But in the email to $Gen I also let them know how that particular store was the worse store in the area for blocking aisles, not stocking, and everything a mess. I got a call from the Regional Manager, and he told me he had just been given his position, and would be there the next week to clean that store up, that they had several complaints. And he DID clean it up and reorganized it. Not as bad as it was, but could use a little more. LOL They fixed the ramp...well...somewhat..you sticll have to be careful using it. It is the closest store to me, but if I am in another area...I go to one in that area. LOL

@Ghostlady I have always joked I wanted to apply to be a manager JUST to clean up the store. lol They'd never hire me. I am sure a clean store would be against their policy.
