As long as it function well we keep it and we don't buy new version of any gadget or household appliances. Our refrigerator is 32 years old. Our washing machine is 10 years old (second washing machine, the first on lasted 20 years) Our Television is 10 years I used my nokia phone from 2002 to 2011. Can you believe that? How about you what is your oldest appliances or gadget that you are still using today?

I do have the same policy with most devices except smartphones and laptops. I would like to ensure the lifespan is completed before buying new ones and in that way wastage is minimal and utilization is at maximum. With smartphones and laptops since they are critical in more ways , in case I see persistent issues post average lifespan, I tend to buy new ones. This has allowed me to be on safer side in many situations. Plus I would use the formers devices for minimal work and try to extend lifespan. The oldest gadget could be around 7 years but have a washing maching which is 16 years old. Good to know your are making sure the devices are fully utilized. Enjoy the weekend!

Yes we make sure that are appliances are utilized Lol! But we don't really have money for impulsive buying hehehehe, but my parents specially my mom always taught us to save and buy things that we can use for almost forever. Thank you for dropping by and engaging on my post. Have a great day.

I will keep things for as long as they are useful. We do have a few gadgets and appliances that aren't very old. We had to buy new things when we moved here ten years ago. Some things have had to be replaced. We have got a fridge and freezers that are quite old. I'm not sure how old. One was given to us by friends who were updating theirs, and another was my husband's before we met. They're probably the oldest appliances we have. Other than that, my laptop is about 12 years old. It might be a little older, I can't remember exactly when I bought it. I only got it because I had to replace an older one for work and study. All the other appliances and gadgets are much newer because we've needed new or replacements. I expect we'll keep them until they no longer function.
