The Three-Way Beer Strategy

Is it really a strategy, or just a convenient circumstance? Either way, it works however indirect the return may be ultimately, and how mostly insignificant the contributions are. I drink Miller Lite and own shares of Miller Coors who owns and sells the brand. So, naturally, every time I buy a case of Miller Lite that helps their bottom line which helps mine too. At the same time, I own shares of Walmart and Kroger, and I buy cases of beer from both of these stores frequently. So, in that way the beer sale contributes to all three stocks indirectly. In an odd way, at least in my funny brain, it makes me think that in some odd way every time I buy beer I am inadvertently decreasing my cost of the cases. It's probably not true... But it helps to justify the purchase. lol

That makes sense, cause every case you buy it goes towards the investment you have in the company & your pocket.

Yes. Exactly. And if the wife complains I am drinking too much I can tell her to shut up, I'm making some shopping money for her.

@porwest don't tell her to "shut up" that's so rude & cold.

Even if the contributions from individual purchases are small, the principle behind it is good

That's the way I look at it. Every purchase helps the company to make sales and profits, and if they do that consistently, if I own the stocks, they do well and we all profit together.

I think we all have the same thinking of buying our favorites. Anyway I don't drink, but any freebies that I can get from the different coffee shop I took it.

However we get our wins is not as important as getting our wins at all. lol

I tend to think that anything that justifies the purchase is a good thing.

@porwest Sometimes when something really appealed to me, I'd buy it as a gift for someone. That seemed to make it okay. And I would give them the gift too - in case you're wondering.

@JudyEv lol. Let them be the Guinea pig anyway, I say. If it works out for them and turns out good, then you can spring for one for yourself.

I'm glad I don't have to justify every purchase! Have a good weekend,

If you justify your purchases, you will have more money, and the more money you have, the more jstified your purchases will be...by default.
