It was a little spooky, for a few seconds.

I drive our van to and from work. Basically you go out Main Street in Marion, which becomes 256 at a stop sign. From there you move onto a fast highway for about ten miles.
At the stop sign, I firmly hit my brakes and my seat belt slightly tightened, as they are supposed to do.
Here is what spooked me: My driver's seat began raising up, then moved forward a little, and then started to tilt back. I was beginning to think I would soon not be able to reach the fuel and brake pedals.
Then I ran my hand down between the seat and the door. The seat belt had tightened across the switch or button that controls all the seat positions. It pushed it one way then another.
When I realized what was going on, I moved the seat belt and readjusted my seat to a position that was safe and comfortable for me. Whew, what a relief!!
Have you ever done something like that?

Yes, I have used the wrong gear, but not for a while.

If I couldn't have got it stopped and corrected I was contemplating just shutting the car off.

No; but that would certainly scare me. Have a good weekend.
