Druba Clock Factory, Germany

We got to visit a clock factory in Germany where they were making cuckoo clocks. The roof of the factory was like a cuckoo clock with dancing dolls. We were taken there right around 12 noon to hear the chimes and to watch the dolls dance. Inside we saw cuckoo clocks being made. I bought one small sized cuckoo clock which had the natural wood colour. The cuckoo clock lasted for a few years but had issues that were irrepairable.

When I was little I always wanted a cuckoo clock! But they are very expensive. And now I feel like I can't justify spending that kind of money on something like that.

@allknowing That's pretty! How often did you need to wind it up?

I’d definitely look in that shop if I was passing. I’ve always loved clocks and especially cuckoo clocks. Maybe the movie Pinocchio had something to do with it? I’ve never owned one nor a Grandfather clock, which I’ve also always had a fascination for. Too late now me thinks. I am so jealous you have a cuckoo clock. Shame it’s no longer working.

I think it fell off the wall when our maid was dusting around. Anyway it did stay with us for a few years and did leave behind happy memories. Why is too late to own a cuckoo clock?

@allknowing “Why is too late to own a cuckoo clock?” Because I am at the age where I’ve decided not to buy non-essential items as I won’t live long enough to enjoy the benefit. The time has passed for clocks. If you pardon the pun.

I had seen some of them, but not in typical houses though.

These conducted tours are advantageous in that they take us to selective places that tourists would like to visit
