Good thing there was no wind

I am astounded at how many of the kids' costumes were inflatable, like those characters you see in the yards all the holidays.
We saw giant teddy bears and dinosaurs, etc.
Wednesday night, the night before Halloween, we had awful wind. Kids in costumes like that would have been blown right off their feet and down the street. Luckily on Halloween itself it was calm.
Whatever happened to making up things at home for Halloween. It has gotten very commercial it seems.

Someone made a pirate ship over a wagon for a little bitty kiddo. It was very cute and well done, home made.

Because we didn't have it as kids, I tend to see Halloween as just as another way for stores to make money. I don't know why things have to get so 'fancy' with everyone vying for bigger and better.

Most parents probably don't want to take the time to make something. Have a good weekend.
