An episode of "Off Script" was very interesting recently. It had Nicole Kidman, Jodie Foster, Jennifer Anniston, Brie Larson, Anna Sawai, Naomi Watts and Sofia Vergara on it. They were speaking about the different facets of the business of acting. They were talking about how they do it. Develop different characters, stay focused and do such wonderful performances.
Some of these women really found it hard to do. One even nearly had a break down. I think that we, as the audience, don't really realize how complex doing this really is. Some have been doing it for several decades while others haven't for very long. They have different ways of developing and exposing the character to the audience. Some stay in the part continuously, while others 'leave it at the office' and, it's all very cut and dried.
Have you ever thought about that aspect of the performances we see? What goes into it all? I have. I think it is amazing. I didn't really understand what some of them go through.

Really? That doesn't seem realistic.

@celticeagle They'd have to be when you see them staring straight out of the screen at you.

those are some good actresses, i'm sure it was interesting to watch.
i always thought it's interesting to do acting and much easier than some other professions + you're making more money than some other professions + you're popular and open for different collaborations
but nothing is as easy as it seems, i guess

I've acted in my past and found it enjoyable. I can imagine that getting into certain characters can be draining. Have a good weekend.
