The Car Game

Between the ages of nine and fifteen, my mother and I lived with my stepbrother and stepfather in Pocatello, Idaho. We would drive to Boise to visit friends on many weekends. On those trips, my stepbrother and I would sit in the back seat with a stack of boxes (four or five high)—very uncomfortable, I might add. During the 3 -4 hour drive, my stepbrother would think of ways to spend our time. One of our favorite things to do was to take turns pointing out a car going by and identifying both the make and model of the car. Did you ever play this game? The picture is from buick.com

That and a few others. Road trips were way more fun without cell phones. The kids nowadays don't have a clue what they are missing. Course, back then, it was easier to determine makes and models. Nowadays all the cars look the same.

That's for sure. We used to have to make it all up. Now it's all there in front of us.

@celticeagle It's why we can't get any good new music, TV shows or movies anymore. No one is left to their imaginations.

We didn't play this one - but oh I would have been so bad at it. I have never been good at naming car makes and models. I think we did the who can find all of the alphabet in order with license plates or signs.

I used to play the game of placing on a book the state license plates of autos that I saw on the interstate when my late dad would drive from one city to another during vacation time,

No. I didn't have any siblings until I was 18; and we didn't get a car until then either. Have a good day.
