A last post about our train trip

Our train ride last Saturday went as far as Etmilyn, eight kilometres from Dwellingup. Etmilyn was a watering point for the steam trains.
Lights on the sides of the carriage illuminated the forest through which we travelled. At one point we saw signs indicating where the Bibbulman track, a 1,000 kilometre walking trail, crosses the line.
The train came to a gentle halt at the station, the engine was disconnected and travelled slowly on a side track to the other end of the carriages where it was reconnected for the return journey to Dwellingup.
The photo shows the light on the engine as it travelled back past our carriage to get to the ‘front’ ready for the return journey.

I've always enjoyed train travel but I really like steam trains best. They don't seem to clackety-clack like they used to. I think they have different railway lines nowadays.

@judyev A train stopped late at night, shunting, lights, weary passengers, mystery - what are you doing to me? I’m away, riding a night train in winter, held up at the border as we cross into Yugoslavia with soldiers searching the carriages looking for a spy.
