Modified and loving it

First of all, daughter called. We had a sweet chat. I am not sure why but hubby wanted chowder for our main Thanksgiving meal. There is a man who smokes salmon and sells it in his shop in a town not too far away. I chopped some celeraic in with the potato in the chowder. First time I've dealt with that funky looking vegetable. I usually don't peel vegies but this one I did. Its outer layer reminded me of ginger. Today's meal felt like a farmer meal. Root vegetables were on the table for sure. I cooked some tender little purple and orange carrots that were grown in my area. I sliced a little area grown apple in with the carrots. We also ate canned cranberry and fat black olives- it is Thanksgiving, after all. We finished the meal with the project that we started last night- oh so tasty and rich peanut butter cream fudge. Hubby did not boil it enough so last night its texture was soupy like an ice cream topping. He boiled it more this morning and now its like caramel- I spoon out a bit and easily mold it into a ball. The stuff is insanely tasty. I am thankful that my hubby is still with me. I am thankful for this old house though it has issues that will cost us money. I am thankful that I continue to be able to walk. I am grateful that we are still speaking with our daughter.
