It's 5 am on Black Friday . . . Is Anybody out Shopping?

Maybe 30 years ago when Black Friday was just starting to get crazy with opening stores up at 6 am and giving out free doughnuts and having limited quantities of must-have items to the first ones there I went Black Friday shopping 2-3 years with my then-husband.
It was kind of fun. We didn't really care about buying anything. It was the "sport" of it.
Fast forward a few years and you couldn't pay me enough to get out in that crowd. Although I do still get up very early on the day after Thanksgiving, but then again I'm up between 4 and 5 am every day.
So is anybody here on myLot going Black Friday shopping today? What is your strategy? What items are you hunting for?

The statement on your photo says it all, I don't get how it's a sport
to be a part of something like that, I've never been 1 to do black Friday
I'll wait till the weekend to do what shopping I need to do.

@porwest Yep, & froze their butts off

@2ndchances24 Yeah. Not for me. I prefer to leave madness to others to experience.

The one time I ever trekked out I could never figure out what all the hype was about. "These are deals?" I was not impressed. And the crowds are ridiculous, and the lines to the registers horrendous. Nope. I stay home and save 100%. It's the best deal there is.

We have Black Friday sales here also.
But not like you've described.
The shopping hours are extended and the sale reductions are a little deeper than usual.
I am not a huge fan of shopping in the masses, too many people, too few parking spots, that isn't enjoyable to me.
Our government has announced a claw back on the GST (goods and services tax) which we pay on most items.
That is a savings of 13% but it is a 2 months trial basis and begins on the 14th of next month. I may find myself buying more during that period of time than today.

@looeyville Goodness no! I can think of nothing worse than battling crowds for the privilege of giving away money to get things I don’t need. I’d sooner pass a kidney stone.

Black Friday became "a thing" in Bosnia only few years ago. i liked to visit some clothing stores, but it was never as cheap as i wanted it to be
it's good that nowadays we can just order things online, no need for being in crowd

No, it's too cold out today. I'm staying in. But I've got to go out sometime because I've got to get my repeat prescription before Christmas. I might do that next week. I'll have to check exactly what the weather's supposed to be like next week.

I only had a couple of gift cards to get; and I am done. Have a good weekend.
