Do You Suffer from Hypertension?

I feel lucky as far as my health and family history of the subject goes. We are strong. My maternal great-grandmother lived to be 96. My maternal grandmother lived to be 88. My paternal grandparents lived to the high 70s. We have no hypertension(heart disease) in the family on either side. We do have Alzheimer's I believe on my paternal side. On my maternal side, the females have had ovarian cysts since my mother. I had it but it was benign. My daughter also and it was benign. My granddaughter was the same. I am not yet sure how the Rectal cancer and Prostate Cancer of my parents will play out in the family as yet. What diseases run in your family?

Hypertension is actually high blood pressure which can lead to other problems. It runs on both sides of my family.

That's quite young by today's standards. Sorry to hear it.

Dementia runs on my mother's side. She, her siblings and mother all had it and passed away from it. We also have a history of brain cancer in the family, I had a brain tumour which was fortunately benign but my uncle and great uncle both did not share that luck. I had ovarian cysts removed when I had a c-section for my second child, and a tumour removed 7 years ago from that vicinity.

You have a lot in your family. Glad the cyst was benign.

Actually, my father's family has a history of high blood pressure and sugar and my mother has a history of stomach problems, luckily it wasn't passed down to me.
