Regardless of your feelings about the current conflicts overseas, here are some Web sites that make it easy to really support the troops. And they won't take much time or effort or money.

The U.S. military's official Web site for supporting service members. Includes plenty of links for getting involved.

Yes, the organization that was responsible for Bob Hope's travels to entertain the troops is still sending entertainers all over the world.

Founded by a college student who served in Iraq, this program matches up members one-on-one with a service member overseas for regular ongoing correspondence.

For decades, Americans have sent packages to troops overseas by addressing them to "Any Soldier" and an APO address. This program takes the idea into the Internet age.

This site began by providing reading material for soldiers but now helps people to send music, magazines, DVDs, and foods to troops. Soldiers' requests are posted and people can respond; you can search by types of items requested, by the branch of service, by where they serve, and even by their home state.

Some U.S. troops are helping to build schools. This project, founded by actor Gary Sinise and author Lauren Hillenbrand ("Seabiscuit") collects funds that are used to buy school supplies.
