Yes, they have no bananas

My store has no bananas today. Some of you may remember that silly song probably from the 1950's. With the able assistance of one of our neighbors, Bob got the van free from the driveway. We drove to Newton to get his prescription, and some other things on our list. Bananas were on my list, but there were none. Not regular, not organic, not reduced. NO bananas. I imagine it is some kind of a shipping problem, coupled with snow hoarders. We have snow again. It started just as we left, and we could barely see to get back home. I could happily enjoy another snow day tomorrow.

Usually they are available all the time. This shocked me, but I did not want to go check another store as there was a snow storm getting started.

Yes, I recall that song. Not having items in the store when you want them is rather eery of times to come.

I have seen other things missing in the past, but yes this is concerning.

The store here I think just gets one giant shipment per week. The pickings are always slim by the time the weekend rolls around.

I am just wondering if the trucks got held up by some snow event.

@GardenGerty Could be, looks like the weather out there has been one thing after the other.

So we have to add bananas to the milk/bread/toilet paper list?

It is entirely possible. Are you now singing the song?

People kind of looked at me weird when I sang it. Yes, another snow day. We cancelled a trip to Oklahoma. I believe they are having snow as well.

@GardenGerty That's a shame you had to cancel your trip.

As long as your red scarf doesn't match your eyes...

Nope, no red scarf. Eye doctor has me using eye drops to moisturize, though.

Maybe some other stores would have, but with the weather getting worse again, I was not willing to go driving around to look.

I figured it was related to all the weather around. When it allows we shall probably have a load of gravel brought in for the driveways.

This winter is quickly going up my list of least favorite winters. Have a good weekend and stay warm.

I went to the store for milk. I walked through the produce and dairy areas....there were a few boxes of 60 eggs/5 dozen, they were $22.49 There were some bananas, but only a few. The fresh vegetables were truly picked over...butter was $5.29 for a pound, I was glad I have a few in my freezer!

@GardenGerty I always try to keep extra butter in my freezer. On sale, it's still expensive!
