What a pointless sign!

I just loved this. I was visiting some friends recently and we went out for a walk with their dog (who you can just see in the background). When we came to this little footbridge over a tiny stream there was this totally unnecessary sign, pointing out the blindingly obvious. Apparently it has been there for quite some time. I guess the local council just need to be seen to be doing something. Or maybe it really was put there as a joke, who knows?

@porwest I imagine that perhaps they kept getting complaints that it was obstructing the path, so they put the sign there as a way of saying 'yes we do know about it, stop telling us!' But they still haven't done anything about actually moving it!

Somebody else should post a sign saying "Gee, really, we never would have known. "The sign almost seems like a joke .maybe it was
