Yesterday, when I was coming back for buying my meds, I saw several people in my neighbor´s garden. So I said hello with my hand and my neighbor´s son came to say hello to me and told me that Miguel, my neighbor, has died last night. Miguel has helped me a lot all these years. And 2 years ago, when I had the kitchen fire, I called Noni, his wife. She called the firemen and told me that Miguel had suffered a stroke and was learning to walk and talk again. These two years I have thought a lot about them but Noni told me that Miguel did not want anyone to know about what had happened to him. So I never called. Last night, after Camila and her friend left, I checked online and there was a place where you could write something if you so wished. I did. Miguel was 10 years younger than me. It is a shame that the best people usually die younger.
