Only two months late installing our rain gauge

Our son gifted us a rain gauge for Christmas. We’ve only just got it installed on the garden wall but that’s okay as we’ve had next-to-no rain since Christmas. I’m glad it’s up as now we won’t have to squirm guiltily when our son asks us if we’ve put it up yet. I guess some of you procrastinate from time to time too, don’t you? I hope so. I’d hate to be the only one that puts things off.

Yes, I believe most of us procrastinate about doing things that aren't important to us or don't interest us very much. I'm sure the rain gauge looks nice now that it has been installed. And I'm sure your son will be pleased to know you've got it up.

At least between Christmas and now it would have hardly even have got wet but through the winter it will be interesting to see what we get when it rains.

@JudyEv A rain gauge here would have gotten some rain but more snow in it. It's too bad you can't measure snow with a rain gauge.

I'm guilty of procrastination from time to time, so don't feel too badly about taking so long to get the rain gauge installed.

@JudyEv Have you collected any rain in it yet? Or has there been no rain at all?

@moffittjc We had about two spots one afternoon so the gauge hasn't been christened yet.

We were able to have a laugh about it and it's not like it's the rainy season yet.

@JudyEv — a yardstick. Seriously, there are “prescribed ways” to measure it, on flat (not concrete) areas with a ruler or yardstick.

It just suddenly hit me. Do you have anything that measures the amount of snow you get?

Oh, yes, procrastination. Been there. I’m glad you got it up and ready. My stepmom installed one, and I get a kick out of it being a topic of discussion between my her and my dad. They can make it into a ten minute back and forth.

We had a rain-gauge on the farm and it was interesting to keep track of how much rain we'd had. Mind you, you could tell from the wheel-barrow if you'd had a lot or a little. lol

You have had a busy time lately, some things can be put on the back burner. Maybe now it will rain. We prioritize things too, that is just good time management.

In some ways, I like having a lot of things to do because I can then maybe multi-task or, as you say, prioritise.

Oh gosh I was given a Christmas gift of a log basket-making kit about 10 years ago - it's still in the garage!! One of these days I really will do it

My SIL had a number of 'projects' in her plastic containers and some of them would be at least that old. I suggested she give them to me for me to offer to the two or three sewing/patchwork/craft groups at the village. She was actually happy to do that so they will all be off her conscience. Mind you, she has kept at least as many. Some only need a little work but others haven't been started.
