$700 toaster

SMEG is a company that makes retro style appliances for the home. I saw a picture of a really cool looking SMEG toaster being sold at Bloomingdales. Went to their site to check it out.
It is SMEG Dolce & Gabbana toaster and it's selling for $700. 
I do not own nor use a toaster as I have a Breville toaster oven. But even if I was in need of a toaster I would not spend that much money on it, even if I was rich. No matter how cool it looks. It is just not worth it to me. That money could be better spend on other things or experiences.

I have a toaster and use it once in a while. I doubt that it was more expensive than a blouse and surely less expensive than a pair of shoes.

I am curious about why a toaster can cost so much. Then I looked up the internet and I found this OK, it's less "expensive" since it only costs £599.95
Frankly, this design doesn't look fancy to me. It's more like an antique toy. I am not interested in it at all.

I recently bought a handbag. That was a want not a need. Even at 50% off I probably should’ve said no. But spending $700 on a toaster is crazy. I guess it’s for those that love to collect stuff. A much cheaper one will work just as well.
