When does "John Fetterman should dress professionally" = "Look how bold Elon is by not dressing professionally?"

maga-Republicans were screaming bloody murder when Obama wore a tan suit and John Fetterman (Senator from Pennsylvania) shows up (all the time) in Congress wearing a t-shirt and shorts. Now, they applaud Elon Musk showing up in the Oval Office wearing jeans, t-shirt and a cap he won't remove while balancing his nose-picking son on his shoulders and to a Cabinet Meeting wearing the same sans nose-picking son. trump nicknamed Steve Bannon, "Sloppy Steve Bannon" for dressing like a slob. He calls Elon, Sir (and Master) for dressing the same way. Let's go bannon! maga

I feel that this is the end of the US I loved and respected.

That was during the Biden years to have that fear. In Biden's world men competed in women's sports. Transgenders were in our military and in cabinet positions. LGBTQ flags were flown with the American flag. Crime was out of order. The border was overrun with illegals. There were tampons in boy's bathrooms. Biden's America looked NOTHING like the America I grew up in. NOT EVEN CLOSE.

I have commented, lightly, that perhaps Fetterman should have better decorum. After all, he's in a high position representing the people. At the same time, I will give him that it does also make him more real. I disagree with him on a lot of issues, agree with him on some, but at the end of the day I will judge him based on what he DOES, not what he is wearing while he does it. On the other hand, Musk is NOT an elected official or even a government employee. Just like Fetterman, to me it doesn't matter what he wears. It matters to me that he shows up and does his job.

If he's not a government employee, what is his job that he should be showing up for? It's just common courtesy that when you are in a symbolic office (like the Oval Office, a house of worship, a Court) you take your cap off. That really applies to any decent human being. And, it does matter even during this reign of terror where nothing matters. It shouldn't take a devotion to any side to agree to a code of common human courtesy and decency.
