Going to a Broadway show

I’m going to a Broadway show with my mom Saturday. We are doing to see Sunset Blvd. I’ve wanted to see this show for a while and I finally get to do it. I’m very excited especially since Nicole Scherzinger is playing the lead character. She is amazing from the clips I’ve seen of her. The show starts at 2 pm and, according to what I found online, it runs 2 hours and 35 minutes. That’s pretty long but there is one intermission. And because it’s a day show, which I prefer, my Saturday is set. We want to grab some food before the show so have to find something and make a reservation. I’d prefer to be close to the venue, just in case it takes longer than expected at the restaurant. I don’t want to eat anything heavy. Perhaps brunch somewhere is the best option. Question is where to go for that. Gonna see what I can find. My search so far wasn’t successful.

Where did you end up eating? And how was the show?

@lovebuglena Your bagel sounds like it was amazing! Now you got me hungry for one. lol. And spending $31 in NYC for a light breakfast is not a bad price at all.

@moffittjc Nope. Certainly way cheaper than brunch in the city. That would probably amount to $80 or higher.

We went to a bagel place close to where my mom used to work. It’s in financial district. We each got an everything bagel with salmon cream cheese, tomato, and fried egg. I got coffee and Mom got hot chocolate. The bagel sandwich was delicious. Everything came out to around $31. That ain’t cheap but cheaper than going somewhere for brunch.

I'd love to see a show again. Maybe one day. The tickets are always so expensive.

With fees I think it was about $89 per ticket.

@JudyEv it was with a discount code and it a bit far from the stage. But not that bad.

I miss going to broadway shows. Chris's mother used to get us tickets every time I went up there to visit (NJ).
