Very Windy Day Today

We have severe weather warnings for tomorrow and the winds seems to be in full force today pushing that system in. Today our winds will be gusting up to 19 mph and it sure feels like it. It is definitely stronger than yesterday's wind and that was bad enough! Rain and thunderstorm starts around 8 pm tonight. This has been pushed back one hour from yesterday's forecast. So today will mainly be an inside day. How is the weather looking in your area? Are you catching this storm also? Photo Credit: Pixabay, Public Domain

The sun is out and I don't hear windchimes. So, that's a thing.

If anyone here has them, hopefully the wind will take the abominable things and carry them far, far away.

@porwest What? I love them! I have some out by the chicken coop, a nice size set and if any creature tries to break in right there the wind chimes will help alert me that something is going on out there--that is if I hear them.

Staying indoors will be a good idea for you today. I hope the wind does not turn out to be destructive..

Today is the good day, tomorrow very bad weather with a Level 5 alert, the highest. We will definitely be staying inside and at home!

They just upgraded y’all to level 5…and the levels only go to 5. Praying for y’all. We’re supposed to get maybe isolated wind gusts and hail, and a possible “spin-up” tornado, but definitely NOT the outbreak they’re expecting in Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana.

We are also under a tornado watch from 5 pm to 10 pm tonight. I'm not looking forward to this night and tomorrow.

@FourWalls Did you find out if it was indoors or outdoors? Either way is horrible for a wedding. It looks like their weather tomorrow is going to be much better than ours here. So maybe they will get lucky with light rain.

The area north of Lake Charles is expecting storms this evening. There will be light rain early tomorrow morning that should be gone by the afternoon,

I peeked at the forecast for Baton Rouge and Lafayette earlier and it looks like it will be much milder there in S. Louisiana.

We have had a couple of tornadoes in Mississippi so far. One was just an hour ago and only a few miles away. The other was up north of Jackson, MS closer to Marie (Tampagirl).

The wind is kicking our butts today with gusts around 30+ miles per hour and we're supposed to get slammed by storms tonight with winds topping 60 miles per hour. It should be interesting. lol

That is what is in store for us tomorrow. They said winds up to 60-70 mph, hail and likely tornadoes too. The event I was scheduled for is rain or shine. I don't think so!

@porwest We had one tornado north of Jackson, Ms in the wee morning hours and another in the past hour about 45 minutes away from me between Meadville, MS and Roxie, MS. Fixing to have another round here in about an hour.

@kareng Yeah, we had some touchdowns, some very close. It got a bit wild for a bit there last night. I was sure we'd lose power, as we usually do. But luckily it stayed on.

We have a high probability of severe thunderstorms and possibly tornadoes Saturday night going into Sunday morning. I'm really praying it's not going to be too bad.

Today is the warmest day we have had this year, and I love it. There is a slight breeze coming in the window. Tomorrow we may get some rain. Stay safe in the winds when they hit.

@Juliaacv I stopped in at the local grocery after my post office stop and you would think that a hurricane was coming. The parking lot was full, the store was packed, long checkout lines...grrr. I got lucky though and went to the register by the office and was next in line. Win!
