I recently saw a list of the top agricultural commodities for the State of Mississippi and was a bit surprised by a couple of them. Here is how Mississippi ranks in the nation with the following commodities:
#1 Catfish--I knew this one, it is bragging rights often publicized here by the media.
#3 Sweet Potatoes and Pine Pulpwood-No surprise on this one
#5 Cotton, Cottonseed and Pine Lumber-No surprise on this one either
#6 Broilers and Rice- No surprise on broilers, but rice was.
#10 Peanuts- Again, no surprise
#11 Soybeans-No Surprise
#13 Eggs-No Surprise
#17 Corn- No Surprise
#22 Hogs and Beef Cattle- No surprise again
Have you looked up the top commodities produced in your state? Are you surprised by a couple?

@Deepizzaguy If you ever get a chance look up their holiday event on the Crowley FB page for Christmas. One Crowley Rice & Reindeer at the Crowley Rice Festival Building. That's not too far from you!

@kareng Ontario is a large and very diversified province.
Up north is rock country, mining is big up there, as is fishing and raising livestock, not much grows up there. In our southern part, we produce alot, and the greenhouse industry is getting really big. I bought some crunchy leaf lettuce and spring mix yesterday from an area near Niagara Falls, from a hothouse.

@kaylachan It a smaller citrus than an orange, with a bit of tangy to it.

I have never looked. But a quick search doesn't show anything surprising
