You may not be in favour but poor Sunita Williams will have to totally depend on supplements to get back her muscke and bone health Imagine not being active for 9 months!!!!
Just a few hours of lack of mobility and I go stiff all over.
I am on supplements - for muscle and bone strength, eye health, anti oxidents, the works
What about you?

What do you mean she wasn't active? Did they change the ISS before she got there and haven't changed it back yet?
The International Space Station is set up so astronauts can exercise daily so they lose less muscle mass and aren't helpless when they return to Earth. They even have an exercise schedule they're supposed to follow to ensure they don't have problems when they return.
Yes, I take supplements every day. My doctor advised me to take them because I was told not to go out in the sun because I've had skin cancer so I take Vitamin D3 every morning. I was advised to take Vitamin C because I don't get enough even though I eat oranges and other citrus fruits all the time.

I supose there is a differencfe between exercising in space where there is no gravity and exercising on earth I did I wrote this post after reading this on the Net
"NASA astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore have begun their journey back to Earth from the International Space Station after a nine-month delay. Their return raises health concerns like bone and muscle loss, balance issues, and vision problems, which will be closely monitored in the coming months"

@allknowing Yes, those are problems that are "normal" for returning astronauts. As long as they follow the schedules for exercise, they should have minimal muscle loss. Vision loss is a different matter. Radiation in space can cause vision problems and weightlessness can change the way the eye works. I've read about both of those in scientific journals.

@JudyEv I know those pills are large but somehow I can manage. How long did you take it and was there a benefit?

@allknowing I took Glucosamine for a while. I find it hard to swallow pills so I avoid them if I can.

That is good that you can depend on the food you are taking.

I believe astronauts even before they go out there are already training. Though they might be floating in space, they will still be using their power and strength. And they arrived on Earth safely and it has been said that all astronauts undergo an acclimation period for several days.
Supplements are good as long as the doctor advises you

@allknowing of course there might be some issues, I think they are being kept and checked for some days. I am sure that they knew this all before this happened and they are prepared for this physically and mentally. Though the stay was unexpectedly long, I am sure they have their contingency plan for such kind of unplanned stuff

Yes I wouldn't fancy being stuck up there all that time. Even one day in the house without going outside is too much for me, imagine never being able to go outside into Earth's familiar fresh air and sunshine or even rain! When I was little I used to imagine becoming an astronaut, but not after I found out more about the realities of it!

Stuck there for 9 months would have affected not just her body but her mind as well. Commendable that she was even able wave and smile

@Fleura It will be commendable if she comes out with flying colours both in mind and body

@allknowing The selection process is very rigorous I think. It takes a very particular kind of person to do that job.
