Some time back I promised to post my a picture of our staple food here in Kenya. Well, More often than not I have been forgetful, only remembering when I am back to the cyber that I hadn’t taken a photo of it. Today 11/05/2025 I managed to take a photo of the Ügali I had just made. Sorry It may not be clear enough, but to describe, I made it by adding a mixture o maize and cassava flour to boiling water, then stirring as I add little by little until it became thick enough. I later ate it with greens (cooked kales and veg. salad.)

It sounds rather like our oatmeal and wheat breakfast meal that we eat here in the US. Cooked the same way.

I suppose. But should you chance to come across a Kenyan Restaurant over there you might have a chance to taste it.

Sure, it is nourishing, but has more carbohydrates, hence gives a lot of energy!
