I went to the food bank distribution closest to me and ran into a lady coming the other way. She asked if there was Food Bank today. I told her, "We're not supposed to be there until nine." (Since it was barely nine o clock then, and she was already coming back).
When I got there, though, there wasn't the usual cleared parking spaces for the trucks, and after standing there a minute a lady came up to me and handed me this paper, (pictured) and apologized for the inconvenience.
O-kay, then. I guess if I really needed to, I could go to the Thursday Food Bank distribution a few blocks away next week. I still have things I could cook in my freezer, and I could go to the grocery store, as I still have $$ on my EBT card.
Oh, well. I could say I got steps, though my phone was at home charging, so I don't know how many.

Make sure you are not on the bank page when you try to post. That page will keep you from posting. That is my experience with it.

All the food banks on our town closed
Stores stopped donating and instead sell the food left on expiry dates at 50% off and I assume what they don't sell gets binned or store staff get it free.
You did indeed get some steps in which is always good

I have no idea how people are managing.
Prices are even higher now than they were when we had food banks so it must be a lot more difficult to manage.

@Ineeddentures I hope kids aren't going hungry. I hate it but understand- stores have their dumpsters locked now. I hate that people resort to garbage foraging but at least they eat. Except its harder now.
