The singara fish is a sea fish enjoyed by everyone. There is a backbone. Other than there is no skeleton or other bones. It is cooked as watery curry with potatoes and eaten with rice. The eggs of the fish are also tasty.

I enjoy fish from time to time despite being a vegetarian by choice. And I would love to eat fish with only the mid bone. But then others in family are allergic to seafood. So, our fish dishes are limited to freshwater mainly Rohu and Catla.

thanks arunimaji your food names make me feel hungry. Yes rohu catla are lovely fish. Some of the sea fishes i love include lacha, lalchi, singara, bangra, pomfret, surmayi, tuna, salmon

@arunima25 thanks Arunimaji generally i feel some onion garlic paste is required in the sea fish curry as opposed to river fish curry because paste neutralizes the raw scent of the fishes.
