Emotional intelligence is what actually determines how smart a person really is. This one attribute is what helps people to succeed and do positive things.
High performers have emotional intelligence. It is also the core of effective leadership.
What are the key aspects of emotional intelligence?
Self-awareness-- recognizing your strengths and capabilities, and also your weaknesses. How you react with others.
Self-regulation-- being able to resist temptations and control impulses. Being able to deal with feelings and reactions. Remaining calm in trying situations.
Empathy-- Understanding other people's feelings and seeing things from their point of view. Recognizing another person's emotional state and understanding why they are experiencing it. Considering other viewpoints.
Do any of these describe our country's leader right now? Many books have been written regarding the view of those who worked around him. How distressing it was to work for him. He has no one around him with emotional intelligence either. Think about that. And, if there was would they speak out?
Think about it. He will never be a good leader or have the attributes to run our country. How do we get out from under his rule? He acts like a spoiled child and is nearly 80 years old. He has now started a war with another country. What more damage can he do?

And the US will never be the same thanks to his insanity. Makes me very angry.

Indeed emotional intelligence is often overlooked in leadership. Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful message.
