Had my Doppler scan

So I was at the hospital again today ....when am I not ! I had the dressing changed under my arm and had the brace refitted. I asked to talk to the consultant as I wasn't pleased about what had happened either last week and especially on Monday when I saw the physio guy. Emails are going to be sent to sort out the unprofessionalism ! They also requested a new x ray which I had done there and then. It shows that my arm is improving, albeit very very slowly. I don't mind how slow it is as long as it does heal. I know already that I am off work til September as the schools break up in jnust a few weeks and I certainly won't be able to return before then. As far as the Doppler scan is concerned they saw a blood flow and said it is fluid on my hand. I may need another scan when I return in a couple of weeks.

You do seem to live in the hospital lol that is not funny Jim stop it bad boy Sending emails won't change a thing but if it makes you feel better go for it. Glad to hear it is improving Remind me how you broke it? I forgot

@Ineeddentures I don't see it as grassing up. I was told three major things that were the complete opposite to what I had already been told. I needed to ask questions so that I can do what I need to to aid the recovery of my arm. If I had taken notice of what the physio said I could have done more damage to my arm.....I could not let that happen or go without comment. Fracture team should be aware that the physio is giving incorrect medical advice.

@Ineeddentures I could have complained officially but had to check my facts first ....I believe the Charge Nurse will take action as like I say the words of the physio firstly was against what he and his dept. had told me and secondly, could have done me and my condition more damage ! When I am feeling 100% I maybe would have taken it further myself ....just at the moment ...let them sort it out between themselves.

@Traceyjayne I don't see it as grassing up either but the physio will and the nurse person might just have said that to appease you. I'm on your side, honestly because I've been in a similar position with the NHS That's why I am saying it's best if you raise a complaint yourself

I'm glad they're sorting out the problems for you and hope the emails work. I'm glad your arm is improving and wish it would go faster for you... I wonder if elevating your hand on pillows while you're sitting down would help with the swelling?

Thank you. I do have to elevate my arm but until last time I went the brace was too long and preventing my arm from bending enough at the elbow. Luckily they have now cut it down....the brace NOT the arm ..... I have to elevate it upacross my chest. I can't move the upper part of my arm very much at the moment.

@Traceyjayne You're welcome. I'm glad you clarified that it's the brace they cut down. Oh, I see... I'm sure that's really uncomfortable.

Sounds like a tough and frustrating stretch but also a little light at the end of the tunnel with that slow healing progress

yes, very true. I am very frustrated as I can't really do anything at the moment and I am usually a very busy person . It is going to take a long time to heal properly, but as long as it does heal I don't really mind how long it takes. As you say there is light at the end of the tunnel.
