The Pool Wars Continue

We're making progress. I swear we are. Either I am trying to convince myself, or it's real. But I do think we are getting closer to blue, come hell or high water.
So, the picture makes it look worse than it is. It looks kind of "neon green." But we cleaned the sides, and we did a real good vacuum. We backwashed and rinsed several times.
The chemicals are good. We just had to add some alkalinity increase, some cyanuric acid, and we threw in a little bit of clarifier.
The chlorine is even good. Over the top. So, we even got in together and churned the water a bit just to disperse everything.
As long as the chlorine is good, it doesn't matter what color it is. You can get in it. We weren't trying to cool off, although we did. We were just trying to stir up the water and help the process.
The next picture, I swear, will be a crystal blue. It's coming. I just know it is. It's just a matter of time.
Meanwhile, I have some pork steaks marinating in a teriyaki sauce that I will put on the grill later. Wish us luck. We don't need dynamite or a bulldozer yet. Onward and upward is what I am going with, here.
Maybe just a wee bit more algaecide tonight when the sun goes down. We'll see.

@porwest It was not only going gungy but was deflating, too.

I'd be in bulldozer mode by now. Your dinner sounds yummy.

The pool water looks so bad and it's yellow green in color. Is it full of algea or moss? How often do you use it for swimming?

@Nakitakona There is. It's just a pain to get rid of it, and a multi-step process.

@porwest No treatment for it? Is there no algea remover?

You know you can also buy some blue clarifying dye and make the whole job easier, right?
I think I'm joking but, you never can tell for sure. It wouldn't surprise me if that's a real possibility, at this point.

@porwest I worked as a night clerk for years and maintaining the pool/pool chemicals was my job... Most of the time I'd lock the gates to the pool around 8 pm and then start checking the chemicals and adding whatever it needed... Once in a while, some idiot would jump over the fence right after I dosed the pool and I'd have to call the owner to come and get them out before they got chemical burns... People can be stupid...
As far as I can remember, we only had one really bad algae bloom during the 8 years I did that... The owner finally decided to drain the pool and start all over again. We just couldn't beat it that summer.

I have always said, someone needs to invent something like that. I mean, the chemicals are all showing good, so we should be making faster progress, but this heat isn't helping of course, and we have been getting lots of rain which throws things off a bit as well.
This round of green is really being stubborn.
