Nephew is home, lounging on the sofa with a pillow across his abdomen.
It’s a truly blessed morning, and now that he’s taken care of (well, his sister’s going to watch him, and you know how siblings are
) I’m heading for Memphis! To coincide with the sunny day (even though it’s slightly foggy here), here’s another song with “sun” in the title. Linda? NO!!!!!!
#3: Come Sundown - Bobby Bare
I go back to my 100 favorites list and pull this gem out again. It’s the perfect combination of a great Kris Kristofferson tune and Bobby Bare’s powerful delivery. I’ve loved this one since I first heard it when it was a hit back in 19(mumble mumble).
We lost Kristofferson last year. Bobby Bare is still with us (age 90), and his son (Bobby Bare Jr.) is an alt-country singer/songwriter. Given that the senior Bare’s Lullabys, Legends, and Lies wasn’t the first album that I ever bought that my father objected to (definitely not the last one, though), it’s only fitting that Bare’s son would continue the alt-country tradition.

It hurts to know it’s over:

In 50 years people will still have their jaws dropping to the floor over Kristofferson’s lyrics.

He has a ten-pound weigh lifting limit for two weeks. He’ll be a good boy because he doesn’t want me kicking his butt.

Can't comment on the song as I am not in to it. But your nephew sounds so much like mine. He will relax on the couch the same way with pillow on his abdomen.

Those pillows are a lifesaver after abdominal surgery!

@FourWalls Oh! I see. I didn't know that he had a surgery. For my nephew, it's more like a habit
